1. What we collect

  • Account info (email, name if provided).
  • Content you submit (texts you add, and optional recordings).
  • Usage data (pages visited, features used, timestamps).
  • Device data (basic diagnostics like browser type).

2. How we use your data

  • Provide feedback on your speech and writing.
  • Track your learning progress and show analytics.
  • Improve reliability and prevent abuse.
  • Provide customer support.

3. Audio and text

  • Recordings and texts are processed to generate feedback and progress stats.
  • You can delete your recordings and texts anytime from your account.
  • We do not sell your content.

4. Model training

  • Your texts and recordings are not used to train public AI models.
  • We do not fine-tune third-party AI models on your individual content.
  • We may use aggregated, de-identified statistics (e.g. error frequency by skill area) to improve our own product features. This data cannot be linked back to your account.

5. Third-party services

  • We use third-party providers — including OpenAI, Cerebras and Microsoft Azure Speech — to process audio and text and return AI feedback. They act as data processors and use your data only to deliver the service to us.
  • Stripe processes subscription payments. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe retains its own copy under their privacy policy.
  • Resend handles transactional email delivery (verification, password reset, billing receipts).

6. Cookies and analytics consent

  • Strictly necessary cookies — used for authentication, session management, CSRF protection and the Stripe checkout — cannot be disabled without breaking the service.
  • Analytics cookies are optional and only enabled after explicit consent.
  • You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of any page, which reopens the consent banner.

7. Data retention

  • Account data is kept while your account is active.
  • When you delete content (a recording, text or your account), it is removed from active systems immediately and from encrypted backups within 30 days.
  • Billing records (invoices, payment status) are retained for 7 years to meet tax and accounting requirements.
  • Aggregated analytics with no personal identifiers may be retained indefinitely.

8. Your rights (EEA / UK / California)

  • Access, export, or correct your data — you can download a JSON export from your account settings.
  • Delete your account at any time. Account deletion cancels any active subscription.
  • Object to or restrict specific processing, and withdraw analytics consent at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For EU residents, the relevant lead authority is your country's DPA.
  • Send rights requests or questions to support@contextalearning.com; we respond within 30 days.

9. International transfers

  • Our infrastructure and several AI processors are located in the United States. Where required, transfers from the EEA / UK rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Data controller
